![]() As we approach the upcoming election cycle, it's time to redouble our efforts to reclaim the State of Illinois from a Democratic Governor and Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate. YOU can help -- in fact, your help is of supreme importance, for without it, we fail and our organization becomes ineffective. Please browse through our Web site. Make yourself aware of our candidates and elected officials, of our activities and local clubs. Then find a way to get involved! Look over our calendar of activities, volunteer, and donate funds. And don't forget to vote! Notice: Precinct committeemen meeting June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Jerry's on 4th and Lincoln in Charleston. Chairman's Corner: The 2010 summer campaign season is here, and Coles County Republicans will join others through the state and around the country to persuade voters to bring some good old common sense and fiscal responsibility to national, state, and local governments. The Coles County Republicans hope you will join us in our activities supporting and promoting our candidates. You will see us in parades, at fundraisers, and walking neighborhoods. We also intend to begin coming together for a social time of like-minded people. Besides being fun, we will encourage each other in the effort to take back our state and national government. Coles County voters have supported Republican Party candidates even when the state and national trends were against us. Much of the credit goes to worthy candidates who step forward to defend Republican principles. A large group of dedicated workers has always come forward to help Republican candidates. The biggest thanks must go to the voters who embrace the ideals of the conservative movement. We are at a critical time in American history. Obviously there is a role for government in many aspects of our lives, but as Republicans, we believe that a bigger government is not always the answer. In fact, we believe in a limited government so that you may keep more of the dollars you earn to use or to invest the way you want. Again, we encourage you to get involved during this pivotal election cycle. The stakes are higher than perhaps at any other time, and yet we feel that moderates and conservatives are ready to return government to the principles of our founding fathers. Chairman John Hurst |
